Abbott had some good news when they announced that they had been named as overall Gold winner of the 2009 Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards. This is not only an honor, but tells everyone something about Abbott.

Its main creation which is the T5000 Biosensor system was built as a detection device of all kinds of viruses. Abbott has some great investors, and an amazing team which pushes forward into developing forms of problem solving technologies. Here is what Stafford O’Kelly had to say who is head of the bio molecular diagnostics team.

“Abbott is dedicated to pursuing innovation to find meaningful solutions that
improve lives.”

Abbott’s Ibis system which was the focal point of the award given was in part for its ability to warn health officials of new disease strains and also possibly prevent an attack from outside countries. What will Abbott invent next, and how will these new and emerging technologies effect us years from now? We can only wait and find out in what ways the Goverment partners up with this growing company to improve the lives of millions of Americans.

For those wanting additional information on the The PLEX-ID, we have added it. The PLEX-ID is a very complex system and it has been based on a combination of
molecular technologies, those of which include polymerase chain reaction as well as and mass spectrometry analysis. The system has been successfully deployed in 20 various applications across the USA.

More information on the intended uses of this Abbott built system will no doubt be released in the future.
